Concept / Brand identity
Common Ground
An imagined identity for a neighborhood gathering place.
One place, many reasons
Common Ground is an original demonstration concept, not commissioned client work. The identity explores a welcoming, typographic direction for a neighborhood meeting place.
A system with room to grow
The concept puts the name first, giving typography the job of setting a warm, direct tone. Space around the lettering keeps the composition open rather than crowded. The result is a study in how a few graphic decisions can suggest a place to gather, without relying on an elaborate symbol.

Application principles
Approach
The starting point is the variety of reasons someone might use a neighborhood meeting place. The concept uses an open typographic voice and a repeated circular form to leave room for those different occasions. This is a design study rather than evidence that a venue commissioned the work.
Design outcome
The original concept illustrates how a consistent type and color relationship can create a recognizable set of applications. It does not establish visitor growth, commercial results or an operating community venue.
